Sky, the UK’s leading home entertainment and communications company, has arrived in Newcastle.

Sky, the UK’s leading entertainment and communications company, has arrived and opened an in-house Customer Contact Centre based in Newcastle city centre.

The new site, is located at Wellbar Central in Gallowgate, and is well on its way to employing approximately 400 Sales and Customer Service staff. The Customer Contact Centre opened in October 2011.

The premises are kitted out with a new café and facilities including meeting rooms, training rooms and studio amenities for other areas of Sky’s business such as installation and engineering, Sky Retail Services and Sky News.

Chris Stylianou, Deputy MD of Operations for Sky, said: “We are delighted to have established a base in Newcastle. Our Customer Contact Centres are the lifeblood of our business and we’ve had much success in the city to date, so opening our own premises here is a natural step. The customer contact centre at Wellbar Central provides an excellent working environment and exciting opportunities for the teams who are based there and are delighted to welcome the new site.”
